Cotton Market News and Commentary

Cotton futures are up 33 to 60 points in the nearby contracts on Monday, helped by a weaker US dollar. The Cotlook A Index was up 25 at 86.90 on April 5. The new USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) is 68.22 cents/lb through Thursday. As of Tuesday, CFTC data indicated spec funds in ICE cotton futures and options adding 8,134 contracts to their now net long position of 8,707 contracts. USDA will release updated Crop Progress data today, showing cotton planting progress.

May 19 Cotton is at 78.84, up 59 points,

Jul 19 Cotton is at 79.1, up 51 points

Dec 19 Cotton is at 77.220, up 33 points
