Cotton Market News and Commentary

Cotton futures are trading 21 to 65 points higher this morning. They were 12 to 26 points lower on Wednesday. The Cotlook A Index was down 15 points at 86.90 on April 2. The weekly Export Sales report will be released in a few minutes, with traders again watching for sales to China. The trade is also keeping an eye on the US/China trade talk. The USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) is 68.23 cents/lb, good through today. In their monthly update, ICAC projected that global cotton consumption will hit an all time high of 27.3 MMT in 2019/20, with production at 27.6 MMT.
